High-Speed Wireless LAN?

One of the notebook I am thinking of purchising supports high-speed wireless LAN. Does that mean the laptop can pick up wireless internet nouns from something like a LINKSYS, or is it something different? The notebook I'm looking at is on the following site. Thanks!
