I hold a Dell Inspiron 6000 with a completely comatose battery,so can I still use it (laptop) beside only an AC Adapter or do I really requirement a new battery-operated? Thanx so much.

Sure you can. I don't have an Inspiron 6000 myself, but I do know that any laptop next to an AC/DC input should be able to run and charge the battery-operated at the same. Infact it should run faster using the AC adapter because it's getting more power.
