How can i connect my laptop to the Internet?

i want to connect my laptop to the internet but minus using a router i know there is something call a wwan card but im not sure what that is or how you capture one of those.

Answer:

you might mean a wireless lan card - you still call for to be in breadth of a wireless router so that your laptop (with wireless lan card installed) can access the wireless router (usualy about 100m clear string of site)

Wireless routers can be installed in the home (and connected to the internet) or they can be within universities, big hotels, libraries etc etc
That's basically an Air card that you get from a Cell Phone Service company, resembling Tmoblie, Verizon's a good one, Sprint Sucks, and I do believe Cingular AT&T as very well
WWAN (Wireless Wide Area Network) is usually distributed from wireless phone companies (AT&T, Sprint, Verison, etc...) You would need to buy one of their WWAN modems & sign up for service. Check out their websites and see what they submit.

If your laptop has a WiFi adapter, afterwards you should be able to connect to a WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) at coffee shops and other places similar to that - and it's usually free. A wireless router will cost you $40-50, and you can get broadband service for as little as $20/month. However, this would simply work at home. WWAN is convenient since it will work anywhere in the wireless exchange cards.
