hi my laptop's cd drive isnt working, whenever i put a cd or dvd contained by it it doesnt recognise it - it opens and closes ok, but its a affliction bcos i cannot listen to my music on it lol - does anybody have any suggestions of whats wrong beside it or what i can do to fix it??

The laser may enjoy gone bad. The rotater, which spins the disc in the drive may also hold stopped working. Check to make sur that the drive have not been disabled internally though by using the device checker in control panel. Hope this help.
i dunno how to fix it but try buying a external drive, the most expensive 1 is like 79.99 from wacky dog. it can burn dvd and cd and play them too. that's the only suggestion i get, u can't buy a software cuz ur computer dont read them nomore. so y bother wasting time, or u could call ur computer service provider, tch support. upright luck
