A little more detail on this would be nice, but I'll bring a stab in the bleak anyway.If it works better on battery power than when it is plugged surrounded by, you may have a unpromising power adapter. As far as shutting down on it's own, that generally individual happens for a couple of reason, assuming the battery isn't basically running out of juice. If you enjoy the air vent for the laptop(usually on the bottom of the machine) obstructed by anything, the laptop will get too hot and shut down. They can be obstructed moderately easily by something as simple as the surface you enjoy it sitting on. Anything fluffy such as a quilt, comforter, fuzzy blanket or even a place-mat on a table can do it. Check to see if your laptop feels excessively hot when it shuts down. If the atmosphere vents are not obstructed, afterwards the cooling fan(s) may be malfunctioning. Good Luck.
