Have a problem next to my Toshiba laptop?

My daughter be using my laptop today, on her lap and it get very hot, shut its self down very soon will not start up again. HELP WHAT DO I DO NOW?

That means it over heated. Happens to me, I also enjoy a toshiba, it takes in the order of an hour or so to cool its self down.

There is a fan type piece at the bottom of the laptop that needs to stay approachable ariway so that it can cool its self. Never have the airway blocking.
